Motorola VE66 officially announced - 5mp camera and WiFi

Today Motorola have announced their second 5MP cameraphone. This time is a slider phone - Motorola VE66. The hightlight of the features are the 5 megapixels autofocus camera and the Wi-Fi connectivity.

The phones has got large 2.2 inch screen with 256K color TFT and fast SCM-A11 500MHz processor. It runs on a Linux OS Montavista v2.6.10. The camera this time doesn’t carry the Kodak brandname, so this time is just Motorola VE66 camera. The camera also have autofocus and is able to record video in QVGA resolution.

VE66 will have two versions. The first one will have quad-band GSM/EDGE support without 3G and the second one will have UMTS and HSDPA support. The phone also comes with FastScroll navigation wheel for better navigation. Motorola VE is expected until the end of the year, no pricing information yet.

Asus P565 announced - the world’s fastest CPU

Yesterday Asus have announced their business PDA phone - the Asus P565. The phone’s highlight is the 800 MHz Marvell TavorP CPU and that makes P565 the world’s fastest phone CPU in this class. Asus P565 also comes with the latest touch-driven interface from the company - the Glide.

Asus P565 sports 2.8 inch touchscreen with a VGA screen resolution. The phone supports tri-band GSM network (900/1800/1900) GSM/GPRS/EDGE and also 3G with HSDPA and Wi-Fi for fastest data transfer. P565 is fully touchscreen-operated, the phone also comes with built-in GPS reciver, microSD card slot and 3MP autofocus camera. The handset runs on a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS with 128MB of RAM.

Nokia Wahoo - built-in GPS and half-QWERTY keypad

After the leak of the Nokia Smartphones roadmap, we have another leak for you and this time we do have photos. The device is codenamed Wahoo - Nokia Wahoo a flip phone. This handset stands out with built-in GPS reciver and half-QWERTY keypad. For me, the phone looks a lot like the first Motorola RAZR.

So the phone support quad-band GSM networks (850/900/1800/1900) and dual-band HSDPA. The camera has got 2 megapixels with flash. Also Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, microSD card slot and 80mb of internal memory. The phone has got two displays - the external 256K TFT 1.36″ with a 128×160 resolution and the internal 16M QVGA 2.2″ TFT.

Nokia Wahoo measures 100 x 52 x 17 mm and it weights 115g. This is still a rumour, stay tuned for more information.

Nokia 2008-2009 smartphones leaked

A bunch of Nokia smartphones has leaked today, we can say this is the 2008-2009 roadmap for Nokia. We have specs highlights, codenames and the date planned for product announcement. There is no photos of the devices yet, but the information is solid and interesting. WiFi, built-in GPS recivers and 5 megapixels autofocus cameras will be included in the features of the most smartphones.

However there is some models that need some special attention. Liko Corolla - Nokia Corolla for example. This smartphone will have 8 megapixel autofocus camera, 3 inch VGA resolution touchscreen 16M color display, QWERTY keyboard, GPS, WiFi with UPnP, TV-out, Bluetooth, HSDPA support, 128MB of RAM and 8GB ROM..

The other two devices are Ivalo and Eitri. Sporting 3.5 inch touchscreen display, 5 megapixels autofocus cameras na FM transmitters. Ivalo has got 32GB of internal memory aGPS, Wi-Fi, TV-out, and Bluetooth. Eitri has got 8GB ROM, microSD, touch-UI interface with feedback and so on.

LG KC560 leaks - 3mp camera and golden D-pad

Another handset from LG leaked today - LG KC560 a phone with interesting design solutions and multimedia as its key element. LG KC560 has got a golden D-pad and golden back panel. Overall the phone looks nice. It has got several LEDs below the keys for visual indications - incoming call, message etc.

LG KC560 packs nice list of features. The camera has got 3 megapixels and autofocus. It has got large 2.4″ 262K color QVGA display. Also tri-band GSM support, USB, Bluetooth, Radio and a microSD card slot. According to the source the phone is expected to cost between 300 and 350 US dollars or 230-270 euro. This is still a unofficial news. We are waiting for the official announcement.

Motorola EM35 spotted - music oriented handset

There is new handset coming from Motorola - Motorola EM35 a successor of the music oriented EM30. EM35 is a smartphone running on a Linux Montavista 2.6.10 OS and it has got SCM-A11 500MHz CPU. This phone have a slider form-factor. It has got three hardware music buttons (previous, play/pouse and next - right under the navigation scroll wheel borrowed from ROKR E8) and a 3.5mm standart stereo AV jack.

Of course the phone has additional music hardware addons like FM Radio with RDS support and a 110MB internal memory + microSD card slot. Also Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo for listening with your favorite Bluetooth headsets.

It sports tri-band GSM networks and GPRS/EDGE - no 3G here. The display is nice - 2.22 inch QVGA resolution TFT 265K colors. The phone has got also a camera on the back - 3MP. Motorola EM35 measures 107 x 49.5 x 16 mm and weighs 117g.

Sony Ericsson W705 around the corner

We are pretty sura that Sony Ericsson will release new handset tomorow - Sony Ericsson W705 - a slider walkman. The portable speaker MBS-900 also will be released tomorow according to the source.

The design of the W705 is similar with the G705’s. The phone will have large display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution TFT 256K color, 3 megapixels autofocus camera, WiFi and built-in GPS reciver. The handset has 120MB internal memory and a m2 card slot, the retail package will have 4GB m2 card.

We expect official announcement of the Sony Ericsson W705 tomorow. According to the source the phone will hit the market in February 2009. Stay tuned for more information.

LG KS500 announced - GPS and optical touchpad

LG have announced another slider - this one is named LG KS500. The phone won’t get your attention on first look but it has got some nice features like 3 mp camera, built-in GPS reciver (Yahoo! Go maps) and optical touchpad navigation. The handset sports QVGA display and will have affordable price tag. LG KS500 is not a smartphone.

The phone sports tri-band GSM networks and dual-band UMTS/HSDPA support. LG KS500 has got QVGA display with 256k colors and 3 mp camera fixed focus. Also there is 100mb internal memory and microSD card slot up to 8GB. This is the first handset from LG that sports optical touchpad.

KS500 brings built-in GPS reciver with A-GPS support, it runs on a Yahoo! Go maps but you can always use Google Maps for Mobile instead of Yahoo’s.

There is no pricing and availability information, but according to the source “subsidized price seems a fair guess.”

Samsung C6620; Windows Mobile and QWERTY keyboard

New Samsung handset have leaked today. This time we are talking about smartphone running on Windows Mobile 6.1 with full QWERTY keyboard - Samsung C6620. The phone is pretty sleek - only 11.9mm thick. It sports tri-band GSM network support and UMTS with HSDPA. The display is landscape QVGA.

Samsung C6620 is low midrange handset this is why it doesn’t have WiFi or GPS and it also has only 2 megapixels fixed focus camera. This is unofficial news, Samsung C6620 is still not available but will retail for 199 euro + 1GB microSD memory card.

Samsung S9402 Duos leaks

This is the first dual-sim enabled luxurious handset ever invented. It’s hand-crafted and it’s called Samsung S9402 Duos. It has got great built quality and it’s made of exquisite materials. With his rhodium-plated body is resistant to mechanical damage.

The Samsung S9402 Duos will have OLED display 256k and a 5 megapixels autofocus camera. It support GPRS and EDGE networking, but no 3G.

The phone has got 1GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot; data transfer via USB 2.0 and Bluetooth. Samsung S9402 Duos will first be released in Russia. There is no official pricing information yet, you might expect a price tag of about 1000 euro.
