iPhone 3G - officially announced

On June 9 Apple officially have announced the new iPhone 3G. Retail price is $199 for the 8GB version and $299 for 16GB, the price will be the same everywhere. The official release date is July 11. The phone will be available in 70 countries before the end of the year.

The phone is basically the same it’s a little bit bigger 1mm++. It support tri-band HSDPA network width EDGE.

The camera is still 2mpx, and there is no video camera for video calls - sad. The battery life is increased with around 20%, 2G talk time is 10hrs, 3G talk time is 5hrs, 6hrs browsing time, 7hrs video playback and 24hrs audio playback.

The good new feature is built-in GPS reciver. There is no memory card slot neither bluetooth upgrade. There is no information about the 32GB versions of the device. iPhone 3G will use firmware 2.0 which will offer 3rd party applications. Stay tuned for more information.
