iPhone users will be able to use iPhone 2.0 firmware with any SIM card they want, iPhone 3G isn’t in this list for now. Thanks to iPhone Pwnage tool developed by iPhone Dev Team.
The new Pwnage tool 2.0 allows you to unclock iPhone first-gen firmware 2.0. This is major iPhone software upgrade, it makes iPhone first generation to looks a lot like iPhone 3G by functionality. Pwnage tool 2.0 works with iPhone 3G also, but is not able to unlock it, hopefully soon that will be possible.
Pwnage tool is available only for MAC users no other platforms are supported. However there is Windows Solution.
Only it two countries - Italy and Hong Kong you are able to buy fully unlocked iPhone 3G - 8GB for 400 euro.
