in Announcements

Today O2 Germany announced XDA Guide – the latest addition to the XDA lineup. XDA Guide is strong when we use it about navigation – its strongest asset is navigation. The handset comes with built-in GPS reciver, TomTom Navigator 7 and maps of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There is also car kit in the package – mount holder and charger.

XDA Guide is powered by 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7225 processor and 256 MB of RAM. It runs on a Windows Mobile 6.1. There is 512mb of internal memory and microSD card slot for more. The phone is built by HTC – so it has got the sweet TouchFLO and 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen. XDA Guide also sports HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and WiFi. There is also preinstalled Opera Mobile 9.5 browser.

The most interesting feature is the footprint function and the dedicated footprint button. The footprint functions let you send pictures and positioning data taken by the built-in 3.2 megapixel snapper. O2 XDA Guide will start shipping by mid-February 2009. There is no pricing information yet.
