Sony Ericsson W508 and W715 Walkman have been announced

Sony Ericsson have announced two new Walkmans – Sony Ericsson W508 and W715 Walkman. W715 is WiFi/GPS enabled and it’s made exclusively for Vodafone. W508 is standard clamshell with 3mp fixed focus camera and built-in accelerometer.

Sony Ericsson W715 is identical to the SE C702 – WiFi with DLNA, 3mp camera + geotagging and an accelerometer for auto-screen rotation and gameplay.

The phone is loaded with goodies such as the latest Walkman music player, TrackID, SenseMe and Shake control. W715 will use his GPS reciver with Vodafone Find&Go or Google Maps. The handset sports quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks and dual-band UMTS/HSPA – 9100/1200 support. The phone will be available in two variants – Galactic Black and Luxury Silver.

The other announced handset is Sony Ericsson W508 – here we have also built-in accelerometer for autoscreen rotation and motion gaming. Maybe the most interesting feature is the “Gesture control”. This function allows you to control your phone with a wave of your hand. W508 has a 2.2 inch QVGA main display and an external one – 1.1 inch OLED monochromatic scratch-resistant with a resolution of 128 x 36 pixels. The device offers 24 hours of constant music playback. Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, HSDPA, 3.2 mp fixed focus camera and FM radio with RDS.

Sony Ericsson W508 will hit the market in the end of Q2 2009. There is no pricing information yet. The phone will have style-up covers: Sunny Orange, Forest Green, Architectural Purple, Mysterious Graffiti, Midnight Summer, Splashed Art, Radial Blue or Street Hip-hop.
