Well, i’ve had Eee PC 701 I bought it when it came out on the market and it was a pretty good netbook for the price. This little guy has got 512MB of ram, 900Mhz CPU Celeron running on 600Mhz, built-in videocard, 4GB SSD and 7 inch screen – it’s tiny.

Playing games on this little guy? Yes, you will be able to run the games, but they are not all playable be cause of the specs list = low framerate. Also the memory – if you have got the 8GB version you’ll be ok, but if you have the 2GB or 4GB version the things gets little more complicated – Windows XP takes ~2GB. The solid state disk is quite fast and makes up for the slow CPU and low RAM. The RAM memory is upgradable (up to 2GB) and it’s also chep. Windows XP runs great!
In my youtube account i have recorded some gameplay on Eee PC – GTA San Andreas, Warcraft III TFT, Unreal Tournament 2004, PES 2008 DEMO, Quake 3, Quake 4 and Delta Force. GTA San Andreas is playable, but in some situations the framerate drops to 8-9… Warcraft III TFT is totality playable – it runs perfect @ 800×480 pixels. UT 2004, PES 2008 and Quake 4 doesn’t seems to run very well – but they are playable too except for Quake 4. See for yourself at my youtube account.
The games are running on standart Asus Eee PC 701 4GB – no CPU clock, 512MB RAM, some of the games are played over WiFi – I’m using my desktop PC like remote HDD.
Here is one of the videos – Warcraft III TFT and UT2004
