Toshiba have launched the Toshiba TG01 PocketPC. They are making a large step from a regular Windows Mobile PocketPCs to a Mobile Internet Device. This handset is packed with a lot of features, here is the specs sheet hightlights – 4.1 inch touchscreen with a WVGA resolution, 9.9mm thickness and 1GHz mobile CPU.
Toshiba TG01 is the first device that will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform powered by 1Ghz mobile CPU. This platform hosts GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, GSM and HSDPA in one chipset. This Mobile CPU has dynamic speed control – Toshiba and Qualcomm claim that the phone will go one day without recharging.
4.1 inch touchscreen – the biggest screen we’ve seen on a GSM mobile phone. The display has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels WVGA. Toshiba TG01 is only 9.9mm thick and packs so many features in this slim design. The connectivity section of TG01 includes HSDPA, WiFi and GPS + A-GPS functionality. The internal memory is only 512MB but its expandable trought microSDHC card slot with support up to 32GB. TG01 also comes with support for DivX video and 3.2mp snapper with autofocus.
The OS chosen to power this beast is the Windows Mobile 6.1 – Toshiba have added their own 3D thumb-optimized user interface. Toshiba TG01 is packed with Internet Explorer Mobile 6 + full Flash support.
