MWC 2009 and Samsung – Omnia HD, Beat DJ, Beat DISC and the rest

Samsung have announced a bunch of new handsets in Barcelona at the MWC this year. They have prepared some nice high-end devices for the mases. The highlight of the announcement is the new Omnia with the HD video recording support.

First we have the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, this monster have a 3.7″ OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 640 x 360 and 16M colors. This phone has got unique 8mp camera with autofocus and 720p HD video recording at 24fps support. Also the phone run on the latest Symbian S60 5th. There is also geotagging, face detection and other camera features.

Omnia HD offers good conectivity too – WiFi, standart microUSB port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and TV-Out. The GPS also sports A-GPS function and uses Samsung Mobile Navigator by Route66. Samsung i8910 Omnia HD has got built-in accelerometer, sensor for auto screen turn-off, DivX video support and FM Radio.

You can choose from two versions: with 8GB or 16GB of internal memory, the microSD card slot have up to 16GB support. The phone is world-wide usable – quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE with tri-band UMTS support plus HSDPA (up to 7.2 Mbps) and HSUPA (up to 5.76 Mbps) support.

Omnia HD is expected to hit the market in Q2 2009.

Samsung Beat DJ and Samsung Beat DISC

Samsung have created new Beat lineup – mobile phones with improved music experience.

Samsung M7600 Beat DJ is rounded handset fully touch operated with the latest TouchWiz UI. It sports 3mp autofocus camera and VGA video recording at 15fps. The phone uses OLED display – 2.8 inches. Samsung have partnership with Bang & Olufsen, the real thing is the BeatDJ feature and the new music player interface called DiskUI, Samsung Beat DJ will turn your phone to a small DJ deck. You can even make scretches on this baby.

Again we have built-in Accelerometer for auto screen rotation, sensor for auto screen turn-off, DivX video support and FM Radio plus 3.5 mm standart stereo jack.

The second phone from the Beat lineup is the Samsung M6710 Beat DISC. Beat DISC has got slider form factor and smaller display – 2.6 inches TFT with 16M colors, a 3mp camera with autofocus and VGA video recording @15fps, 3G and 3.5 mm stereo jack. The latest TouchWiz UI again with the DiskUI music player.

Beat DISC sports quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support along with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. Both handsets will be available in Q2 this year, no word on pricing yet.

Another phone that have leaked early before – The samsung l7410 projector phone. This device is using a small Pico projector, this is the first mobile phone with built-in projector – it’s impressive. It has got a 3.2 inch WQVGA touchscreen and a 5mp autofocus camera. All this is powered by the 1440 mAh battery. This baby is also using the TouchWiz user interface. Picture size go from 5 to 50 inches and the microSD card slot support up to 16GB cards.

Samsung S7350 Ultra s and Samsung S7220 Ultra b

Samsung S7350 Ultra s has got a 2.6 inch AMOLED WQVGA screen and high-end design borrowed from S8300 Ultra Touch. S7350 is one of the first Samsung handset that have flash-based user interface.

The phone also feature built-in GPS reciver and A-GPS support with the full Route66 package. The camera has 5 megapixels and autofocsu plus powerLED, face detection and other goodies. The camera also support D1 video recording at 30fps.

S7350 Ultra s support quad-band GSM networks and dual-band HSDPA (up to 7.2 Mbps) support. It features expandable memory via microSD card slot, Stereo Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and FM Radio.

Samsung S7220 Ultra b is candybar with a 2.2 inch OLED screen 262K colors and QVGA resolution. S7220 uses new Flash-based UI witch is a feature of the Ultra lineup. There is also auto screen rotation and turn-to-mute thanks to the built-in accelerometer.

The camera has a 5 megapixels and is able to record videos only in QVGA resolution plus powerLED. Again quad-band GSM support and dual-band HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps support. It features expandable memory via microSD, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and FM Radio.

Samsung B5702 and Samsung C5212

Both of the devices are with dual-SIM support and actually this is the first two global handset. They have quad-band GSM support. Both SIM cards have this quad-band network support. There is nothing else special, standart features for low to mid range handset.

Samsung Blue Earth

Samsung Blue Earth is eco-friendly solar powered fully touch operated mobile phone made from recycled materials. This phone has got Eco-mode and Eco-Walk features. The solar panel can give you enought power of a call. Here is more information and photos.

And the latest in the list two stylish and affordable handsets – Samsung S3500 and Samsung S3110. They both pack Bluetooth with A2DP, FM Radio, MP3 player, 2MP and 1.3MP cameras and expandable memory.
