Samsung announced two new handsets – Samsung S5600 and Samsung S5230. S5600 and S5230 runs on the latest TouchWiz user interface. They both sports large touchscreens and mid-range feature sets.
Samsung S5600 has got large 2.8 inch 16M colors TFT display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and built-in accelerometer. The camera – 3.2 megapixels with autofocus and LED flash.
This is midrange handset, it has got quad-band GSM/EDGE support and audl-band HSDPA 7.2mbps support. There is also Bluetooth 2.1 A2DP and USB 2.0 onboard. Samsung S5600 has got 80MB of built-in memory and microSD card slot. S5600 is expected on the European market in May this year, the price is still unknown.
Samsung S5230 sports large 3 inch TFT 256k display with WQVGA resolution – 240 x 400 pixels. This phone is rather thin – only 11.9mm.
No 3G here, only GPRS/EDGE conectivity feature. This makes Samsung S5230 a direct competitor to the LG Cookie. The phone is expected in Europe in April this year, the pricetag is still unknown.
They both are pioneering the Gesture Lock feature. This feature enable the users to unlock the phone by drawing an alphabet letter on the screen. You can assign various actions to any of the alphabet letters.
