HTC have announced a new Windows Mobile powered handset with full QWERTY keyboard and mid-range features – the HTC Snap. The phone was presented at the CTIA Wireless 2009. Actually HTC Snap is the first phone of its kind for the company since S630 back in 2003 – QWERTY-equipped bar.
There will be two versions of HTC Snap at the market – EMEA version will operate on the 900/2100 MHz frequencies and the US version will support 850/1900 MHz and will be called HTC S721.
HTC Snap sports 2.4 inch landscape screen with QVGA resolution and a 2 megapixels camera. Also the phone runs on a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM 7225 CPU and has 192MB of RAM. HTC Snap has got quad-band GSM network support and dual-band UMTS + HSDPA support.
HTC Snap also has built-in GPS reciver with A-GPS support, WiFi, microSD card slot and Bluetooth. The phone will start shipping this summer in UK and US, the pricetag is still unknown.
